It's Spring in Australia, but I couldn't resist these autumnal themed cases!! These are special cases occasion cases, "special" because they are more expensive than usual, but you can bake mini yeasted breads, cupcakes, mini fruit cakes or muffins and they will keep their shape. The colour of the cases darkens on baking and I think it makes them look even more lovely. They are also a design that suits "men", in fact my step son and husband were briefly distracted from eating cupcakes when they were admiring the cases... they don't usually find "pink butterfly cases" as pretty as I do ;)

The cases are free standing and strong; resin coated on the outside and unlined craft card on the interior.

    SIZE: H= 5cm (2 inches) W= 5.8cm (2.3 inches) Package of approximately 36 cups for $15.00 (US)
Your in luck in you are located in America, the cases are from Fancy Flours (US).  If you really have your heart set on these and your not in the US, Fancy Flours do deliver internationally, though postage costs are high... perhaps you could split an order with a friend or ask a US friend to ship them to you?

    Happy Baking :)

Cupcake Cases, Liners, Papers & Wrappers

Cupcake liners can match your theme, act as an inspiration or just be pretty like these pink and black toile cupcake cases by Meri Meri

"Pretty Pretty" applies to everything made by Meri Meri the designers and publishers based in the UK and US. Probably most well known for their cupcake kits, Meri Meri also produce an equally beautiful range of paper party-ware to match your theme.

I love these pink and black toile cases, the paper is medium weight and best used with light coloured cake batters.  Whilst the boxes do hold a single cupcake I think I'll use them to package pink macaron's.

    Happy Baking :)

    Falling off

I hadn't seen this before, cases falling totally off the baked cupcakes.

Hmmm, well I've had paper cases separate from the side of cupcakes before, but I've never seen them totally fall off until this week.

I used red cases to bake a batch of vanilla and a batch of chocolate, then I baked a batch of the same chocolate cake in brown cases.

An hour after baking all the red cases fell off the chocolate cakes, not a slight lift away from the edge, they totally fell off! No problems with vanilla cakes in the same red cases, or any problems with brown cases.

There is a few reasons for cupcake cases coming away from the sides of cupcakes, the main culprit is the brand of the cases. Good cases are made from medium weight paper greaseproof paper, not too wide across the top & straighter sides. Sweden and Scandinavia  produce exceptional cases. Fox Run in Australia produces lighter weight papers, but they do stay put. The dark brown cases I use most of time I bulk buy from Earl Craft 'n' Cake inexpensive & reliable, they look great too.

As for the red ones, I guess I'm won't baking chocolate cakes in them ;)
